Newsflash

  • The USCENTCOM Statue is In

The statue model of the US Central Command Memorial statue arrived today, and it is truly inspiring. Though lacking some of the details of the finished memorial, this collector's item will be cherished by the individual or group that purchases it at our auction. Scultpor Scott Stearman used this model to demonstrate the work he planned for the the statue he was commissioned to create for the US Central Command Memorial. The Memorial is now finished, and Scott generously donated this item for our auction.

It is signed by the sculptor (the photograph really does not do this justice), and has a plaque attached reading:

    CENTCOM MEMORIAL
"To honor the men and women of the United States who served the cause of peace and freedom in the central region."
    UNITED STATES CENTRAL COMMAND

  • On-Site Ticket Sales

We've had some requests for information about "at the door" ticket sales. Here's the scoop:

First, we will not be able to sell tickets at the door of the theatre. As a very last resort, if you cannot get a ticket any other way, we will make one available to you at the door. More on that in a minute.

  • Come Ring the Bell

    The Belladier is Coming

And I understand he's bringing the Bell

I just received an email from Claire Hall, David Halls daughter in law. David is responding well to treatment, and is back in the United States. And the great news is that he's coming to the event. See an excerpt for Claire's email:

We are deeply honored that the Northside Ride has selected our Belladier as the beneficiary of their 2011 fundraiser.

David will be attending at least a portion of the event, though we can’t confirm exactly which portion. (You’ll just have to come to the whole thing to see him!)

Please come join us this Saturday, and tell your friends!

    See you there,

    Claire Hall

I have also since heard that the plan is to bring the Liberty Bell to Northside Naz for this event. Exciting news about David, and about the event!

Updated Information: The Liberty Bell is definitely going to be there. We will also have a surprise guest speaker at the Liberty Luncheon. You will not want to miss this!

  • 2011 Ride Route Posted

We've updated the The Ride page to include the planned route to the theatre. Please note two important things:

    • The ride will have LEO escort - please ride carfully and follow the instructions given at the required safety meeting
    • The route is subject to change at the request of LEO or if other circumstances dictate

  • BBQ Count

We're buying the food and getting ready to slow smoke the brisket, but we need to know how many to count on so no one goes hungry. Please click on the 2011 Events menu, and answer the quick poll (on the right) to let us know how many will be in your group.

Participation

The ride is open to bikes and cages (non-motorcycle vehicles). Bikes will be at the front of the procession, cages at the back. Large flag bikes are welcome, and will ride at the front of the group of bikes.

We will have LEO (Law Enforcement Official) escort from the church parking lot to the theatre. We are working with Grapevine Mills Mall to arrange dedicated parking for the bikes - please check back for additional information on this.

We welcome and encourage non-motorcycle participation. If you don't ride, please bring your vehicle and join us. This is a story that should be seen by everyone, bikers and non-bikers alike.

Registration

We ask that all participants pre-register. Depending on participation level we may allow on-site registration, but if participation is as heavy as we anticipate, we will restrict participants to pre-registered riders/operators. We need pre-registration so we can prepare local LEO.

You can pre-register online at Brown Paper Tickets, or by phone by calling BPT at their Ticket Hotline at 1-800-838-3006. If you register by phone, be sure to specify the "DFW TX-Event & Ride for Patriot Guard Riders Documentary Film".

Safety Meeting

There is a required safety meeting for all operators, whether you're riding a bike or driving a vehicle.

The safety meeting begins promptly at 10:00am. Please show your respect for the other riders and volunteer LEO, and be on time for the safety meeting.

The Ride

The ride will begin at Northside Church of the Nazarene, 6750 Denton Hwy, Ft Worth, TX.

We will take Watauga Road east, which will turn into Mid-Cities Blvd, until we reach state HWY 26. We will then take HWY 26 north to Grapevine Mills Mall

The ride will end at Grapevine Mills AMC 30, 3150 Grapevine Mills Parkway, Grapveine, TX.

Please click the link below for full details of the route.
