  • The USCENTCOM Statue is In

The statue model of the US Central Command Memorial statue arrived today, and it is truly inspiring. Though lacking some of the details of the finished memorial, this collector's item will be cherished by the individual or group that purchases it at our auction. Scultpor Scott Stearman used this model to demonstrate the work he planned for the the statue he was commissioned to create for the US Central Command Memorial. The Memorial is now finished, and Scott generously donated this item for our auction.

It is signed by the sculptor (the photograph really does not do this justice), and has a plaque attached reading:

    CENTCOM MEMORIAL
"To honor the men and women of the United States who served the cause of peace and freedom in the central region."
    UNITED STATES CENTRAL COMMAND

  • On-Site Ticket Sales

We've had some requests for information about "at the door" ticket sales. Here's the scoop:

First, we will not be able to sell tickets at the door of the theatre. As a very last resort, if you cannot get a ticket any other way, we will make one available to you at the door. More on that in a minute.

  • Come Ring the Bell

    The Belladier is Coming

And I understand he's bringing the Bell

I just received an email from Claire Hall, David Halls daughter in law. David is responding well to treatment, and is back in the United States. And the great news is that he's coming to the event. See an excerpt for Claire's email:

We are deeply honored that the Northside Ride has selected our Belladier as the beneficiary of their 2011 fundraiser.

David will be attending at least a portion of the event, though we can’t confirm exactly which portion. (You’ll just have to come to the whole thing to see him!)

Please come join us this Saturday, and tell your friends!

    See you there,

    Claire Hall

I have also since heard that the plan is to bring the Liberty Bell to Northside Naz for this event. Exciting news about David, and about the event!

Updated Information: The Liberty Bell is definitely going to be there. We will also have a surprise guest speaker at the Liberty Luncheon. You will not want to miss this!

  • 2011 Ride Route Posted

We've updated the The Ride page to include the planned route to the theatre. Please note two important things:

    • The ride will have LEO escort - please ride carfully and follow the instructions given at the required safety meeting
    • The route is subject to change at the request of LEO or if other circumstances dictate

  • BBQ Count

We're buying the food and getting ready to slow smoke the brisket, but we need to know how many to count on so no one goes hungry. Please click on the 2011 Events menu, and answer the quick poll (on the right) to let us know how many will be in your group.

The Belladier

David HallMost of us in the DFW area have seen or heard of David Hall. David is the "Belladier" (a title he coined) for the only travelling working Liberty Bell replica. Maybe you've attended a military funeral and have seen or heard the Liberty Bell as its poignant sound reminded you of the sacrifice you were there to honor and respect. Maybe your heart swelled with pride at a patriotic event as it rang out celebrating our nation's liberty and freedom, echoing out the same sound our founding fathers heard in the early days of our nation's beginnings.

The Travelling Liberty Bell is an exact relplica of the original Liberty Bell, one of 70 cast for the bicentennial of the signing of the Declaration of Indepenence. Mounted on a flatbed trailer for mobility the bell is flanked by two tablets displaying the Ten Commandments. As David explains "the Ten Commandments represent our ‘respect for authority’ and the ‘foundation of moral law ‘ upon which our culture is built. There is no Liberty without Law". Since the attack on America on 9-11-2001, David Hall has dedicated himself to honoring our nation and those that fight for the freedoms and liberties we enjoy. David's compelling story of his "Belladiering" can be found on his blog.

Another Battle

Now, David is in a personal battle. In January of 2011, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Information about David's war with cancer can also be found on his blog site. He is currently undergoing treatment in Quito, Ecuador. David and his wife do not have insurance to cover these treatments.

Ellen Frick has agreed to donate 10% of all ticket receipts from the April 30th screening of the Patriot Guard Riders documentary towards a local charity. When discussing possible recipients for contributions; Mike Lambert, the Assistant State Captain for the Texas PGR suggested contributing towards David's medical bills. We are pleased to offer this small token of our respect for David and his cause to assist him and his family.

In addition to 10% of the ticket sales going toward David's medical bills, we plan on offering sponsor donated items for auction before the ride to the screening. All proceeds from this auction will also go twwards David's medical expenses. Participants in the ride can also make personal donations towards his expenses at that time.

DFW's WFAA Channel 8 produced a segment on David Hall in the "The Cost of War - The Texas Toll" series. You can see it on Youtube.
